In Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ second biennial “Global Trends and Strategic Time Horizons in Philanthropy” report, they found that the global challenges since 2020 including the COVID-19 pandemic lead to increased socio-economic uncertainty and international geopolitical tensions. In response to these growing concerns, one-third of 150 philanthropies from 30 different countries accelerated their spending and several more considered revising their philanthropic timelines.

It is responses and reports like these that help illuminate how and why philanthropic organizations make important decisions, including those about funders’ philanthropic timeframes in light of world events and issues.
