Give to Gain — 2026 International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, the World Affairs Council of Charlotte invites our community to come together around a powerful idea: generosity fuels progress.

The IWD 2026 “Give to Gain” Campaign encourages a spirit of collaboration, reciprocity, and intentional investment in women’s advancement. When individuals, companies, and communities give generously whether through resources, advocacy, mentorship, funding, or opportunity we expand what is possible for women and girls in our region and around the world.

Giving is not a subtraction. It is intentional multiplication.
When women thrive, families strengthen. Organizations grow. Communities rise.

There are many ways to give:

  • Financial support
  • Professional expertise and knowledge
  • Mentorship and leadership development
  • Visibility and advocacy
  • Education and workforce training
  • Time and community engagement

Each contribution helps build a more equitable and interconnected world.

As part of this year’s program on March 5th, we are honored to feature Sabrina L. Brathwaite, Senior Vice President / Resident Director and Senior Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, who will share insights on leadership, financial empowerment, and the importance of investing in women’s economic advancement.
