Become a WACC Member

The World Affairs Council of Charlotte (WACC) was founded in 1983 as an outreach program of UNC Charlotte and its Office of International Programs. As a non-profit, non-partisan organization, it is supported by private funding from individual and corporate member dues and contributions.

As a regional center for education and discussion of world affairs, the Council seeks to provide leadership for global thinking, believing that a broad perspective is necessary for effective competition in the global economy and for responsible citizenship in the increasingly interdependent political world.

Please consider joining us as a member to help support our mission. Bring the world to Charlotte through the World Affairs Council of Charlotte!

Membership with the World Affairs Council of Charlotte allows members to connect with other internationally-minded individuals, newcomers, students, and members of the Charlotte business community while keeping up-to-date on global developments at our programs. Learn about a wide range of international topics from ambassadors, Heads of State, foreign dignitaries, experts on foreign affairs and other internationally renowned speakers when you sign up to become a member of the Council.

Becoming a member is simple. You can sign up online and pay with your card, or you can call into our office and pay via credit card or check. If you prefer mailing in your membership application with a check or card information, you can easily download the application here and mail it back to our office.

Our corporate members also receive a number of benefits in addition to visibility and logo recognition. For internationally-minded organizations, WACC events provide exceptional networking and business development opportunities with government officials, foreign dignitaries, world renowned authors and experts on global affairs, and local Charlotte-area decision makers. Many times Council speakers pay private visits to our member companies to give briefings and updates on global issues to top executives, international trade divisions, and global risk analysts.
