Biography

Roland Nelles has been working in political Journalism for more than 25 years. Currently he is Chief US Correspondent for SPIEGEL ONLINE, Germany‘s most important News Website. Prior to his assignment in the US Roland worked for the mother company in Germany in many different roles. He was a political correspondent for DER SPIEGEL, the website’s Bureau Chief in Berlin, Managing Editor on the Foreign Desk and Member of the Editorial Board. He is married to Claire who is a French citizen and works in PR. They have two children, the family lives in Chevy Chase, Washington DC.
