Join the World Affairs Council of Charlotte for an exclusive luncheon on November 12 with Major General (Ret.) Garrett Yee, Vice President and General Manager at General Dynamics Information Technology. General Yee will lead an insightful discussion on the transformative impact of new technologies, including AI, on global security and foreign policy.

He will examine how nations like the U.S., China, and Russia are using advanced technologies to gain strategic advantages in areas such as autonomous weapons systems, cyber warfare, and intelligence gathering. Specific examples include China’s use of surveillance technology and AI to expand its influence, and Russia’s exploitation of cyber tools and AI-driven disinformation campaigns that threaten democratic institutions worldwide. General Yee will also address the role of quantum computing, 5G networks, and emerging technologies in reshaping military strategy and global power dynamics.

In addition, the conversation will explore the ethical dilemmas posed by these technologies, such as autonomous decision-making in warfare and privacy concerns in digital surveillance. General Yee will discuss the need for international arms control frameworks, the risks of technological escalation, and the opportunities for U.S. foreign policy to lead in developing global standards for technology governance.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights into how cutting-edge technology is reshaping diplomacy, security, and the future of warfare.
