Biography: MG Shane Buzza
Major General Shane Buzza assumed responsibility as Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Forces Command on 1 Oct 2022. Prior to his arrival at Fort Liberty, he served as Wartime Chief of Staff
for Eighth Army, Camp Humphreys and Camp Yongin, Republic of Korea for 27 months. MG Buzza received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in Field Artillery from the United
States Military Academy on 25 May 1988. His prior assignments include Commanding General, 91st Training Division, Deputy Commanding General, 84th Training Command, Chief of Staff,
Pacific Division, 75th Training Command, Commander, 2nd Brigade, Pacific Division, 75th TC, and Commander 3-356th Logistic Support Battalion, First Army, Fort Hunter Liggett, CA.
MG Buzza’s Regular Army assignments include various positions with 7/15 Field Artillery, 7th Infantry Division (Light) in Fort Ord, CA from 1988 thru 1991. He served with B Battery during
Operation Just Cause in Panama, and following the events of September 11, 2001, he served two stateside tours in support of Operation Noble Eagle. He has participated in multinational
exercises in Japan during Yama Sakura 67 and the Republic of Korea 12 times since 2013.
MG Buzza attended US Army Airborne School in July 1986 and then CTLT in Augsberg, Germany where he earned the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in bronze while
partnered with the Federal Republic of Germany’s 565 Panzer Artillerie Battalion. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from West Point, Master of Physical Therapy and Master of
Arts in Physical Education degrees from California State University, Fresno, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. His military
education includes Panama Jungle Warfare Course, Field Artillery Basic and Advanced Courses (Honor Graduate), Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General
Staff College, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education, the U.S. Army War College (Department of Distance Education), Army Strategic Education Program – Basic and Advanced,
and the National Defense University CAPSTONE course.
MG Buzza’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with seven
oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Parachutist Badge. MG Buzza has two adult sons, an aspiring actor and an author.
Biography: Garrett Yee
Garrett Yee currently serves as the Vice President and General Manager of the Army and Defense Agencies Sector. In this role, he is responsible for the successful operation, execution, and management for GDIT’s Army and Defense Agencies mission programs. He leads over 3,000 employees with operations in 22 countries, implements effective employee and customer engagements, and focuses on improving service delivery in all major programs.
Garrett is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience specializing in executive leadership, customer engagement, team building, performance improvement, and productivity optimization.
Prior to GDIT, Garrett served in the U.S. Army retiring as Major General. In his final assignment with the Army, Garrett served at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) where he helped to lead a global organization of approximately 8,000 military and civilian personnel who plan, develop, deliver, and operate joint, interoperable, command and control capabilities and a global enterprise infrastructure in direct support of the president, secretary of defense, joint chiefs of staff, combatant commanders, Department of Defense components, and other mission partners across the full spectrum of operations.
Prior to his assignment at DISA, Garrett served as the Military Deputy to the Army CIO/G-6 and Senior Information Security Officer in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G6, Headquarters, Department of the Army in the Pentagon.
Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University, a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Golden Gate University.
