Biography
Dr. Stephen Blank is a historian of the Tsarist, Soviet and Russian periods and draws on his cross-temporal expertise to analyze and decipher contemporary Russian affairs. A compelling speaker, he is a master at narrating the non-fiction story of Russia’s global probes today. Dr. Blank currently serves as Senior Fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington, D.C. This follows his twenty-year tenure as Professor of National Security and Russian Foreign Policy at the Strategic Studies Institute of the U.S. Army War College. Dr. Blank is the author of over one thousand articles, fifteen books, and addresses civilian and military audiences across the United States, Middle East, Europe and Asia. He is a consultant to private firms and the United States Congress and is the go-to-guy on Russian affairs for media worldwide
