Since 1990, the World Affairs Council of Charlotte has presented the World Citizen Award to prominent citizens (and organizations) who have enhanced our community’s standing in the world through their accomplishments of international significance and contributions to the city, this region, and our international community.

This year, the Council is honored to present the 2024 World Citizen Award to Eugene A. Woods, MBA, MHA, FACHE, is Chief Executive Officer of Advocate Health.

Join the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte for the second installment of the restored Adventures in Dining series on its new date of Tuesday, May 28th, 2024!

Meet and mingle over Pakistani cuisine with fellow internationally-minded Charlotte area young professionals. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and delectable cuisine of Pakistan through our Adventures in Dining series. This event offers a unique chance to broaden your culinary horizons and indulge in authentic dishes that not only showcase the diverse culinary heritage of Pakistan but also the cultural nuances, traditions, and history embedded in each dish.

Additionally, this event follows closely after the first ever visit to Charlotte of the Ambassador of Pakistan to the U.S. who will speak with the Council and share insights into Pakistan’s pivotal role in the global arena and address complex geopolitical challenges in South Asia.
