Join The Magellan Society, Young Professionals of the WACC, for a special Adventures in Dining Cooking Class and networking experience. Dr. Marie-Claire Marroum, current WACC Board Member, was born in Jerusalem and raised in Lebanon. She will share her culinary secrets in a fun and entertaining atmosphere in this hands-on Spanish themed cooking class. Participants will learn techniques for making items such as Paella. Come ready to learn from our expert international cook, sample traditional Spanish foods and wines while meeting other young professionals. This Adventures in Dining Cooking Class includes hands-on instruction, dinner comprising of cooking class dishes, wine and take-home recipes. Register today as space is limited!

The Magellan Society at the Knights Baseball Game Come watch the Charlotte Knights baseball game with TMS on May 26th! TMS will have a special reserved location to enjoy the game from the roof of the new BB&T stadium in uptown Charlotte. Dinner will be included and a cash bar will be available.

Global Spotlight (May 20) Cambodia tmsJoin TMS as we hear from John Compton, History Teacher at Providence Day School and Council Scholar recipient, as he shares the history, culture, political situation, and his insights of Cambodia after having recently returned from the country. Join The Magellan Society, Young Professionals of the WACC, and Charlotte Country Day School on May 6th as we host Anthea Rossouw, Founder of the Dreamcatcher Foundation. Anthea will discuss community empowerment barriers and projects in a post apartheid South America. Dreamcatcher provides opportunities for communities living in recurrent poverty to improve their quality of life and create a future in which they can thrive. Working in 20 different communities over the past two decades, the Foundation continually strives to eliminate barriers and develop opportunities, offering a "leg up" to self-sustenance and dignity, as opposed to taking a "hand out" approach.

Join TMS for our first International Fun Run originating at Triple C Brewing Company on April 30th. Participants must come dressed to represent the nations/countries of their choice for a proud display of colors during the fun run. The run is designed so that participants can choose their own distance and will conclude back at Triple C Brewery.

Join TMS in partnership with UNC Charlotte Office of International Programs for the opportunity to network and hear several early-career professionals discuss the international elements of their careers in law, business, government, not-for-profit and education. The panelists will speak about their experiences and offer valuable advice to those about to enter the job market pursuing work in international fields.

Join TMS for an excursion to Waldhorn Restaurant to enjoy authentic German cuisine in the company of an excellent group of internationally-minded young professionals. Network and mingle while enjoying a delicious family style meal of bratwurst vorspeise, crab cakes, karoffelpuffer (potato pancakes), hausgemachte maultaschen (pasta pillows), braised beef rouladen and breaded pork cutlets. For those wanting to sample German bier, a cash bar will be available.
