The Race for a COVID-19 Vaccine

More than 10 million people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus worldwide since the pandemic began, according to the World Health Organization’s and Johns Hopkins University’s data. At the end of June, the WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged world leaders to continue enforcing measures to reduce coronavirus transmissions in their respective countries as the pandemic continues to ravage communities around the globe. Many countries, including the United States, are experiencing a resurgence of cases as nations begin opening up their economies for work, school, travel, and social gatherings.

Join us on Thursday, September 10th at 2 p.m. EDT as we have a conversation with Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President at the Center of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Director of the Global Health Policy Center about the ongoing COVID-19 threat around the world, strategies for reducing the risk of infections, and coordinated inter-governmental cooperation for vaccine development and public health policy in this challenging time. He will also address America’s withdrawal from the WHO from a global health perspective and the threat of pandemics to our national security.
