His Excellency David Douglas Hamadziripi is a seasoned Zimbabwean diplomat and career foreign service officer who currently serves as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the United States of America. He was appointed to this role in 2025 following a diplomatic reshuffle by the Government of Zimbabwe, after previously serving in key ambassadorial postings.

Prior to his posting to the United States, Ambassador Hamadziripi served as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa, one of the country’s most strategic diplomatic missions, where he played a central role in managing bilateral relations, trade, and migration issues between the two neighboring countries.

Earlier in his diplomatic career, he also served as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to France and held senior leadership roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Acting Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Director of Multilateral Affairs. In these capacities, he represented Zimbabwe in various international forums and contributed to engagements with global institutions such as the United Nations and UNESCO.

Ambassador Hamadziripi has also held non-resident accreditation to the Republic of Seychelles, where he became the first Zimbabwean ambassador accredited to the country in 2021, working to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as tourism, education, and economic development.

With decades of experience in diplomacy, international relations, and multilateral engagement, H.E. David Douglas Hamadziripi is regarded as a key figure in advancing Zimbabwe’s foreign policy objectives, strengthening bilateral partnerships, and promoting economic and political cooperation across regions.
