Join us for a dynamic conversation focused on increasing awareness and understanding of our local governance here in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County. We will provide participants with a foundational overview of how local government functions across Charlotte and equip you with the knowledge needed to become informed, engaged members of your community.
Panelists:
- Robert Hines, Assistant Professor, Political Science and Public Administration, UNC Charlotte
- Larken Egleston, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, NC Department of Justice
- Matthew Ridenhour, former Chair of the Economic Development Committee & Mecklenburg County Commissioner (5th District)
- Kelly Hofstatter, 2025-2026 Nominating Committee, League of Women Voters
After a moderated discussion led by a YPWACC Advisory Board Member, we welcome and encourage open conversations and questions between the panelists and attendees.
**Additionally, we will offer the opportunity for you to check your voter registration status and assist you in registering to vote if desired. ****
