Express Yourself: International Art Workshop Series – Stitched Stories: A Zine of Home led by Ioannis Anastasiou (Greece) and Majka Dokudowicz (Poland)

Join the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte for a new program series on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025!

What’s it all about?

Get ready to unleash your creativity and connect across cultures in a hands-on, two-part workshop where collage meets zine-making. No experience? No problem! This is a space for everyone to explore, express, and share their story.

Part One: Creating Collages of Home

Dive into the themes of home and belonging. You’ll craft analogue collages using a mix of your photos (optional!) and our curated materials—creating a visual tribute to your identity, your roots, and your journey to Charlotte.

Part Two: Binding Our Stories Together

Turn your collage into a zine! Learn the basics of self-publishing and design, then hand-stitch your zine using the beautiful but straightforward saddle stitch technique. You’ll walk away with a piece of collaborative art that tells our shared story.

This will be a fun, creative, and meaningful evening, and we’d love to see you there!
