Carmen Cecilia Cardenas completed the second phase of her Masters in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language at the University of Granada last year. In addition to taking classes and finalizing her thesis, she gathered materials, such as interviews, pictures, and videos to share with her students at William A. Hough High School.

Carmen plans to create a non-profit student exchange program between families in Cornelius-Huntersville and families in Granada in order to help students from both countries gain a better understanding of the world. If she’s successful, Carmen then hopes to extend the program to Peru and other South American countries as well.
